17th September 2020
Dear Parents & Carers,
School Closure
Due to several confirmed cases of coronavirus within our staff team and children, we have made the difficult decision to close the school.
Years 3, 4 and 5
We are asking children in these groups to learn from home until further notice due to low staffing numbers. They are not being asked to self-isolate. Please be especially vigilant of how your child is, and whether they display any symptoms of the coronavirus (please see the information from Public Health England below).
Nursery, Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 6
As per my letter on Monday/Tuesday, we are asking these pupils to self-isolate until 29th September 2020 due to a confirmed case within their class. We are asking these pupils to do this to reduce the possibility of spreading COVID 19 to others in the community.
Please see the link to the PHE Staying at Home Guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-homeguidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection
When will the school reopen?
While the Academy is clean and safe to open, we can only open to pupils when we have enough staff. It is also vital that any staff who have a confirmed case of coronavirus self-isolate for the next two weeks.
I will be in touch with an update on when the Academy will reopen to pupils via text and letter next week.
What should I do now?
We know that for most people, coronavirus will be a mild illness, but we all have a responsibility to ensure that we do all that we can to reduce transmission to others. Please follow the guidance provided below from Public Health England should your child develop symptoms of coronavirus.
A home learning timetable for your child is available on the home learning page of the website for every year group and there will be a new timetable on the website for W/B 21st September this Friday, please go to the Oasis Academy website and then the home learning page. If you have any questions or queries, please send these via the school email address enquiry@oasisboulton.org. If you do not yet have access to emails, and you have a question, you can call the Academy today, but please be aware that our phone lines may be busy and will be closed from tomorrow.
Thank you for your continued support – I will of course keep you updated.
Warm regards
Mrs S Rathore
Principal.

There are things you can do to help reduce the risk of you and anyone you live with getting ill with COVID-19
Do:
· wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
· use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
· wash your hands as soon as you get home
· cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
· put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards
