Environment and Sustainability
At Oasis Academy Boulton, we're on a mission to maintain a sustainable and ethical way of living, be it through upcycling products, ethically sourced food, ethical fashion and so much more. We are educating and training our pupils to help create a world where people show patience, compassion and consideration to one another, to our planet and to themselves. We want to be as eco-friendly as possible, striving to show that it is possible to lead a sustainable life especially if you apply the 9 habits.
Passionate students is not a new thing, they are ready to express their honest views and influence policy on climate change, as an academy we pledge to support our pupils through this process and we are hopeful for a brighter future where we can all live in a self-controlled way and be mindful of the food wastage, plastic build up and carbon emissions.
As an academy we will inspire and empower young people to get involved in social actions related to environment and sustainability. We will promote and celebrate the positive role young people can play and have on this global issue. We will ensure young people have a voice and that they use this to express their concerns and opinions related to all the local and global causes.
We will equip our pupils with knowledge and leadership skills, empowering them to take action towards a more sustainable lifestyle in their home, their school and in their community. Our goal is to reduce our use of paper by 80% by the end of 2023 and to use solar power across the academy by 2025. We will be successful when we reduce our printing costs and order less paper.
Taking action and showing our pupils and the wider school community the simple steps everyone can take in their daily lives to reduce their environmental footprint and live more harmoniously with nature.
